I want , rather I need some new magazine subcriptions. Here are my faves: Allure, Real Simple, Lucky. I read them up everytime I hit up Barnes and Noble or Borders. It is one of my favorite destinations. I just wish they had free wifi. Panera has free wifi, but no free magazines or books to peruse. Well I guess they aren’t free, are they?
Every now and then I will pick up a Cosmo or Vogue, but they aren’t necessities. I have a friend who buys a Cosmopolitan Magazine religiously as soon as it hits the newstand. She is literally throwing money down the drain every time she swipes that debit card. Think about it this way, you can get a year’s worth of magazines with a subscription for the price of about 5 or 6 months at the news stand. Now don’t get me wrong, if you buy a magazine every now and then based on who is on the cover, you may not want to invest in a whole subscription. But if you genuinely like the magazine and everytime you see it, you have to have it–get a subscription.
Put the money you save away for your weekly latte. Better yet, if you are one of those people who just buys one or two magazines, still get a subscription and gift the ones you don’t want to a school art class or other non-profit organization.
I guess my wants and needs are a little confusing, but aren’t wants actually needs?
